Super September

In September Jeff, Emily, Norah, and Mollie moved to Idaho.  We were so sad to see them go, but happy for their new adventures with school.  I am especially sad to see miss Norah leave Jonah.  They have such a special relationship. They love each other so much, but can also fight like brothers and sister.  We had a s'more roasting shindig the night before they left.

Daddy took these boys to a Rockfor Aviators baseball game one evening after their soccer game.  I think their faces say how excited they were!

Jonah started his second year of Pre School.  He looks so grown up this year and is very excited about school.  He loves his teachers and new friends.

We haven't been out much since Griff came.  But we were able to go out one evening (with our third wheel tag along) to dinner.  Love my hubby!

And of course we spent many a days on the soccer fields, whether for games or for either boy's practices.  I bought one of these leashes that I swore I would never use on a child hoping it would keep Greyson close by while I have my hands pre occupied with the baby... who was I kidding?!  The kiddo is so determined and busy.  It's hard to go out, but I guess we managed.

Jackson's SEVENTH birthday

Jackson turned seven years old this year.  Seven! Each year that my children get older tugs at this mama's heart strings!

He had a birthday party last year, so this year he got to spend it with a family celebration.  He decided he wanted to go to Chuckie Cheeses for his celebration.  The boys absolutely love that place!

He also got to go on a special dinner date with Ala Grandma and Grandpa and of course chose his favorite restaurant Texas Roadhouse.  He loves it for the rolls, honey butter, and peanuts!  Donna snapped this picture of him getting a birthday "Yee-ha" on the saddle.

I took the easy route this year and let him pick out his cake rather than making it.  He saw the Mario cake and loved it!

He got spoiled by Mom and Dad, his Grandparent, and Great Grandparents!  He wanted to pose with everything he got! :)

And his big gift from mom and dad a new BIG bike!  He loves it!!

We are so grateful for our first born!  Giving birth to him seven years ago was the greatest day of our lives as we started our family.  He is an awesome kid who has a sensitive heart, loves adventures, and has a strong will.  We love him!

Awesome August

Griffin at 2 months...

August brought us some garden goodness...

Daddy did Jonah's first eye exam this week and found out that he needs glasses!  We were both super surprised cause he never complained about his vision.  I must say he looks so cute in his new specs!

Back to school, back to school!  Jackson's first day of First Grade.

Celebrating Ala Grandpa's birthday with family.  Love all these cute cousins on their Grandpa's lap.

Unfortunately we started the summer with Jonah getting stitchs and Greyson in a cast.  Because he is such a climber, he fell off of our high kitchen chairs and got a fracture on his elbow.  :(

That was quite the story though...

It happened in the early evening and so I took him into the Urgent Care.  They didn't catch the crack in the Xrays and tryed twisting his arm a couple times thinking it may be nurse maids elbow.  He just screamed and was in so much pain when doing that I just knew something wasn't right.  We left there with them telling me that it was just a sprain and if he wasn't better tomorrow to go to the pediatrician.
Of course, I went to the pediatrician the next day because he was still in a lot of pain with that arm.  My pediatrician did the same elbow twist and told me that it is possible that "the tendon was out of place and now it is just sore."  I've had two kids have nursemaids more than once and I KNEW that was bull.  He then told me that "if it isn't better by tomorrow we will refer him to the pediatric orthopedic", to which at the point I asked him if we could just make the referral now and that I knew something wasn't right.  He got a little peeved at me and told me that he's not the type of doctor who can just snap his fingers and get someone in that day and that I could always go to the ortho walk in clinic.  I was a bit upset with him and went straight to the walk in clinic.
Mother intuition was RIGHT and they found the crack right away after doing Xrays.  I wanted to call the pediatrician right then and chew him out! Don't worry, I didn't, but I do refuse to go see him for any appointments.

They put him in a soft split (the blue cast) and a week later in a hard bright green cast.  He had to wear the cast for 4 weeks.

I just LOVE this picture of him.  The filter on my camera made the colors so bright and beautiful and his little face just melts my heart constantly.  Love my Grey-bug!

Jubilant July

I felt bad for the big boys this summer since I knew we would be stuck at home for the most part with a newborn.  So their Daddy did special things with them as much as possible.
He took them on a long bike ride to the ice cream shop.  They LOVED that and talk about doing that again over and over.

Jackson's mile run for the summer.

Mini Put-Put!

Stake pioneer picnic

They also had a couple weeks of swim lessons which is always super fun for them.  We just love swim lessons with the park district.  It was a little tricky having the baby and chasing Greyson around.... but we survived.

Speaking of Greyson, he is getting busy busy at 18 months old.  He gets in all sorts of mischief, as you can see in these picture documentation.

We can't get him to eat much of anything, but he will eat a green marker.  Silly kiddo.

And our sweet baby at a month old...
