September Sweetness

As with the end of every season, September came and we were hoping for more "fall" weather.  The first week we were still in the 90-100's!  So we took advantage while we could with slip n slides, bike rides, and garden vegi eatin'... and continued to wish for fall weather.

Jackson's school had a family reading night.  It was all about Dinosaurs.  Jonah loved being involved and this picture cracked me up as you can see (the third to the left) the little guy even volunteered and acted like he was one of the big elementary kids.  I love that Jackson still wants his brother to be involved and lets him hang out and play with him all the time.

Soccer also came to an end at the beginning of the month

Ice cream party with the team... and notice who's again in there with the big boys.

Fall finally hit and the end of one sport came the next.  His first year in flag football, and oh boy, did he love it!!

Once again... little boy in red "huddled" with the team...

Jonah, Greyson, and I spent many a football days at practice and being his cheerleaders (Dad always had to work late or go to Young Men's, so I was on my own for most of this sport).

We also enjoyed a few trips to one of our FAVORITE places in the fall: Edwards Apple Orchard.  This is always a must as you just can't beat the apple cider and cider donuts.

Jackson's 6th Birthday Bash!!

Jackson had a great 6th Birthday.  Lowes was putting on a big build and grow safety convention that morning that I thought would be fun to take the boys to.  They had activities for the kids, they got to tour their firetrucks/ambulances, and eat a free BBQ meal.  We spent a good couple of hours there, but unfortunately it was a day Justin had to work, so he couldn't join us for the fun.

We came home and these crazies helped me make Jackson's Bday Cake (the best part of any birthday in their minds) and that evening we invited Ala Grandma and Grandpa over for cake and presents.

He was of course spoiled from his family!

These pics were my favorites!  I had found some dumb iron man guys at Shopko weeks ago on clearance for $4.  I told Jonah he could get them for Jackson for his birthday.  He was so excited to give him his present and Jackson LOVED them!  Jonah's face and their sweet hug says it all.  :)

*************************************************************************

That weekend we had the "friend" party.  It has been a couple of years since we have done parties so I thought it was about time.  And because I love to go all out, I wanted to have it at home and do a sports party.  Here are all the little details that I love so much!

The weather was seriously perfect that day!  It wasn't too hot and worked out so well for all the outdoor activities I had planned.  We rotated through a bunch of relay type sports games and then just let the kids run around and play whatever they wanted.  We then served them a hot dog lunch, ate cupcakes, and opened presents.  It seemed to be a success and Jackson sure loved it!

And apparently when you turn 6, legos and building type toys are the big deal.  He sure got set up with those!

Labor Day with a bunch of cuties!

Over Labor Day weekend we decided to go visit Jeremy and Morgans family in Kirksville, Missouri.  The kids were so excited to spend time with the cousins and they lived it up all weekend long.  It is so fun to see these kiddo's together.  They all love each other so much!

We enjoyed time at the farmers market, hanging around the house, eating all of Aunt Morgan's yummy food, playing at the Lake, and just enjoying one another's company.  It was a great trip and we thank Jeremy and Morgan for their hospitality.

These cousins!  So darn cute together!!

Little Emmit loved Jackson and followed him around saying his name all weekend.  Jackson is such a sweet boy, he was so nice to him.  This picture of Em driving his car on his head cracks me up :)

Big bear hug before we left.
