When I was eight years old I begged and begged and begged my parents for a Cat for Christmas. I didn't think I would get one, but to my surprise, Christmas morning 1990 there was a cat under the tree. My younger brother Jeff found him in a box and did what anyone one would do with a present - he started shaking it. From then on, whenver the cat would do something wierd we would always blame Jeff.
Jingles was put to sleep today, March 31 2008. His health had been failing for the past few months and yesterday he collapsed. He made it through the night, but my parents took him to the vet today. He weighed only four pounds, and because he was 17 1/2 years old, they decided the best thing for him was to be put to sleep.
He wasn't too much for cuddling, but he loved milk. There is probably not a more persistent cat than Jingles when it comes to getting milk. Regardless of how many times he was sprayed with a water bottle, or pushed off the counter he would continue to inch his way toward the milk. Somehow he always ended up getting some when we weren't looking.
He will definately be missed!

Haylee,
Okay, I was very confused when I read that you had a little brother named Jeff! I thought I knew your family better than that! Luckily, everything made since when I read that Justin has the little brother! I feel bad for the cat though, our cat, who is Haylee's cats mom, is getting old too and will probably meet the same fate.
It took me a second as well to figure out Justin was posting. I kept thinking.. I know she doesn't have a cat named Jingles and I would have known about him if she'd had him that long. I am sorry to hear the sad news. Poor Old Marian (our fam cat) is almost 17 years old and still as fat and happy as ever. My mom has been hoping for its death for years! Shaking doesn't seem to help...
I totally remember when you got that cat. I'm so sorry he had to be put to sleep. I was just asking your mom about Jingles when I saw her in Ark. Maybe you and Haylee should get Jackson a cute little kitty.
I wonder if Haylee ever called this cat "Kitters" like she did all her cats? Just a thought. Well..I am sorry to hear about your cat, Justin. That is hard, especially when they have been a member of the family for so long.
Sorry about Jingles Justin :( It's always so sad to loose a family pet.
Well, thanks for making me CRY! My room is not goint to be the same without him on my bed :( and he always like cuddling with me, well maybe not always, but he did!
OH Justin, every morning dad talks about how he misses that cat getting in his way for milk. It's been a hard loss. It seems like everyday we are reminded of him in some way or another. AND just to clear something up ..... your parents DID NOT GET THAT CAT For you SANTA did :0 Love mom
