On Sunday we decided to go for a drive and a picnic. So after church we made a scrumptious lunch, packed up the truck, and headed up the mountain to Slide Lake. Because we had such a wet winter and a late spring, things are absolutely breathtaking around here. It is greener than I remember ever seeing it and the wildflowers are just amazing. There are these yellow flowers (blossom-root) everywhere! We couldn't help to pull over and take some pictures.
Here we all are enjoying our yummy picnic lunch. It was such a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors.
After we ate we walked around for a bit, picked a few wildflowers for a project I am going to work on, and let Jackson play on the top of the truck. He found this empty Root beer can and had a hay-day sucking on it and trying to get a few last drops out of it! :)
And last, but not least, we drove up to our "secret huckleberry spot." So here is a picture I title "IN ANTICIPATION" (if you look closely you can see quite a few green berries on the branch). Sadly, I don't think they'll be ready until after we have moved.

Sounds like a wonderful day! And how pretty! So, project, huh...tell me more! Cute little Jackson! Oh, how did you make that little mural with lots of pictures of Jackson all squished together? I wanna know how! Anyway, keep in touch!
oh my- that scene is beautiful- mountains,flowers, picnic. i love it! you are so lucky to be living up there. i'd kill to live there for the summer . aww. your lil boy is getting bigger and cuter .

Mmm can I just say huckelberry ice-cream is calling to me now that I saw that green little sucker?? Jackson is absolutely gorgeous! I too want to know how you got that little mural of Jackson. So fun! You will have to do a post tutorial for us dummies.
The flowers are beautiful the weather looked great, but those pictures of Jackson is what took my breath away.....he looks like a little biker man with tha short sleve shirt and hat on backwards. I CAN'T wait to see you guys.
