Justin's first day of optometry school!

Justin is officially in optometry school. Weird that it has finally come... it was one of those things we've been talking about for a couple of years, but always seemed so far away. Now here we are talking about when he'll actually be an eye doctor (which again seems SO FAR away!) He started yesterday and came home saying he has already learned so much. For example he asks me, "What do you think I would do if someone came in with their eyeball popped out of it's socket?"
I said, "Uhhh send them to the E.R.!!"
"Nope. Just push it back in... and I was told I will see this in my career."
Haha that kind of creeped me out!

Here he is with all of his books. This is 34 pounds worth of books and $930 dollars worth of books!! INSANE!!! It is kind of overwhelming to think about the cost of this schooling experience.... it's okay it's worth it, it's worth it, it's worth it! (I'm reassuring myself if you couldn't tell :) )Justin got some pretty insane equipment to go along with his text books. These are all the prescription lenses that they make... with some pretty stylish glasses!
We are excited for this new adventure and hope and pray that we will be able to handle the challenges and stresses it'll bring along with the good times.
Love you Justin!! You are going to be a GREAT eye doctor someday.

awesome- good luck Justin! That'll be so fun for him to be learning something he's passionate about - and to really start his career! it'll be worth it Haylee- it WILL be worth it. There's an optometrist here in dallas that specializes in lasik eye surgery who makes millions of dollars!!! is that what he wants to do too? If so-- it's definitely worth it :)

Wow...fun gear. Jeremy and I were both like...what is all that stuff! What is in the little suitcase thing? Not the briefcase, the suitcase. I hope you find lots of things to do to keep you busy and happy, Haylee. And hey, yeah, Nikki, that neighbor you were telling me about, wemt to school with me and actually got married the day after me. She's fun. Do they have kids? Anyway, I'll keep in touch, and let me know if there is anything I can do for ya. I've been there! Love ya!

The suitcase has the rest of my equipment and 10 books. It looks like I'm going on vacation with that thing, but I'm really just going to school!
