A Sigh of Relief and a Favorite Blankie

Jackson hasn't been "really" babysat since he was basically born. We've had family watch him, but only once or twice when he was really young did we have anyone else watch him. Because we lived close to my parents, they were our main babysitters and his Aunt Jamie and Uncle Bub were also called upon to watch him.
Being in Memphis we now don't have that perk, so we had to find a "real" babysitter (aka not a family member). Justin and I are involved in an organization on campus and they were having a meeting the other night we wanted to attend. So I asked a really sweet gal in our ward to watch him. I was nervous because #1 it was a long stretch of time (5:30-9:00) and #2 He normally goes to bed around 7:00-7:30. Well this girl was so kind and volunteered to just come over to our house and put him to bed around 7:00 and then she would hang out there.
When I got home and asked how he was her reply was "Oh my gosh! I've never babysat an easier kid!" She said he made like 2 sounds the whole time and was just walking around as happy as could be. He was okay about me leaving and didn't cry when I was gone. She even said she accidentally plowed into him and he fell over and just looked at her and didn't even cry!
WHEW! I was happy to hear that. It just makes me nervous to leave him with someone and have him be horrible!
The latest phase Jackson has been going through is carrying his favorite blankie around. Before I can get him out of his crib in the morning he makes sure he bends down and grabs his blankie. Then he carries it around all morning long. I think it is so cute! :)

My kids do the same thing with their blankets. Except Davis hands me his blanket before I can get him out of the crib. Once that is taken care of then he can get out. We even bring our blankets to the mall, store, EVERYWHERE!!! But its okay b/c I'm able to keep them happy which means I get more done and I'm happy :o)

what a cute blog!!! Leaving our boys was always hard for us too. We always took them with us wherever we went, so when it was time to leave them at home..... it was hard. I think harder on David & I than on the boys themselves. :) The blankie thing..... brings back lots of wonderful memories!!!! Ahhhhhhh!!! Thanks. :)

Sounds like he did great for the babysitter! He was fun and easy to watch when I did! Kate loves her blankie, but if I let her carry it around she trips on it! He is so cute and big!

He is so cute! And boy is that good that he did so well with a babysitter, isn't it funny how kids can surprise you sometimes!

I have never seen that kid be bad.... mind you I only have seen him 2 times in the last year but everytime I am around him he is an angel... I am glad he was so good for a babysitter.

What a good boy!!! It's such a relief when they do okay with someone else. I know I say this all the time, but I can't get over how big he's looking. What a handsome dude... we love blankie boys around this house :)
