15 months

I can't believe Jackson is already 15 months!! He is growing so much lately and learning all the time. He is so fun! I thought I needed to do an update on his life these days and put some pictures I've taken recently.
He just recently started putting things on himself. He puts his hats on (the cutest pilot hat Grandma Johnson got him--I wish I had a picture of that), shoes on his feet, and gloves on his hands. I found him the other day putting on the oven mitts and putting on Daddy's shoes. He did these all by himself.
He is my little helper. Everywhere I am and anything I am doing he wants to share in on the fun. He loves sweeping the floor with the broom and always gets it out of the closet if I happen to leave it open. Sometimes his "helping" is not much of a help... but at least he thinks he is! :) I've been trying to get him to "help" put his toys away, but his idea of "helping" is to take everything out of the toy box or off of the toy shelf after I put it away! :) Yup, he is still into pretty much everything. We have a problem when I am on the computer because it is in our bedroom and he loves to pretty much destroy the room! It is so frustrating what he can get into. The other day I was trying something new with my hair so it was actually taking me a while to get ready for the day (rather than my 2 second ponytail hairdo). He was playing with the Q-tips and I let him because the package was hardly opened and I didn't think he would be able to get much out before he would get bored trying... well after I was done with my hair I looked over and this is what I found: They were all over the room and he was so excited!! haha it was actually pretty funny. Then he tried to "help" clean them up by taking them out of the package while I tried to put them back in.

He is getting so smart, it is hard to keep track of all that he is doing.
  • We have been trying to get him to "fold his arms" for the prayer and haven't had much success. Last night we did our normal bedtime routine and I said it is time to say the prayer and he came and sat down on my lap and folded his arms! I was so excited! I didn't have to say "fold your arms" all I had to say was PRAYER! I loved that he recognized that word.
  • We read the Book of Mormon story book to him before bed and he is trying hard to say Jesus. He recognizes the word, post to his picture on the wall or in the book and tries to say something. It comes out like "DDDddda" (as do all of the words he tries to say).
  • He is recognizing words and objects and tries to say them. He hasn't gotten the sounds right, but I know he is trying. Somethings he does say good are "mama mommy" and "dada" "baby" "what's that? (sounds like is dat?)" "uh-oh"
  • Signs so many words now. His newest ones are banana, juice, please, and sometimes thank you.
  • Knows where many body parts are. His newest ones are toes and head.
  • Gives kisses!! I've also been working on this one for awhile and it is so cute when he gives them!
  • Is starting to eat with a plate, bowl, and fork. I've always been a little too chicken to put a plate on his tray or give him a spoon to go at it with, but he's doing pretty good with the new utensils.
  • He loves his mommy and is so sweet to her. The other day I was really sick and he was the best boy! He would just sit by me and stay by my side while I layed on the couch. He didn't even hardly complain. And when I started to cry he just looked at me with so much concern and sat on my lap and gave me kisses and hugs... it was so sweet and I absolutely love the bond we have.

what a darling post! When I was reading it, I got all teary eyed. Silly me! But, Hay- Jackson is so cute and mischievous! I love it! In one of the pictures with the q-tips, I thought he resembled Easton a little bit. They must be cousins!
