Great Grandpa: Clark Alma Moulton

I am blessed beyond words to have been so close to my great grandparents and to have them a live so many years of my life. My great grandfather passed away April 14. I was lucky to be able to go to Utah for the funeral. It was hard to say goodbye after reminiscing on all the memories I had of him, but it was great to be there to celebrate his life. He was a man of faith, diligence, a hard work ethic, and love. He was amazing and it was evident how many lives he touched by how many people attended his funeral.
5 years ago my great grandma, his dear Veda, passed away and he was pretty lost without her. He continued to talk to Veda, although she was physically gone, she was always in his heart. One of my favorite stories that demonstrates the love they had for each other was when she was in the hospital before her passing. She had fallen and broken her hip and she layed in the hospital bed struggling to keep warm. They had piles of blankets on her and on top of all the blankets my grandfather had placed his coat there. He said when he went to heaven he would meet Veda with a box of chocolates since chocolate was a favorite treat for them both. I can only imagine how joyous their reunion was!
I always have said that if it was possible to go back into time I would love to watch the life of my Great Grandpa Moulton, because I know I would never stop learning as I observed him. He was a Jackson Hole Rancher most his life and his casket was beautifully made of pine with his brand engraved on the side. On top lay his cowboy hat. The song sung at the grave site was called "Go Rest High on that Mountain" and it fit his cowboy life perfectly. We are blessed to continue to have his heritage at the Ranch in Jackson Hole.Me, my three brothers, and my grams (Clark's oldest daughter). My (2nd?) cousin Ally. We often got together at the Ranch and visited Great Grandpa together. We were great friends growing up. I hadn't seen her in years, so it was great to catch up with her.The whole group: Clark's daughter and husband (my grams and grandpa), his oldest grandson and wife (my dad and mom), His four great grand kids and their wives (me and my brothers), and his three great great grandsons (Jackson and his 2 cousins).
Family is what made him rich and he sure loved us! Jackson got to meet him last year and I loved how grandpas face lit up when he looked and talked about the baby.
God be with you until we meet again.

You have me in tears ... what special tribute to your great grandpa. He loved you dearly as I do. I'm glad you told the story of him covering her with his coat. I'd forgotten that. Yes he will 'rest high on that mountain'.

Hey I saw this photo by looking at a girl in my wards blog-Kim Perry and I saw this picture of your grandpa. I was shocked because I know him too! I took care of him at the care facility for about a year. I am really sad to see that he is gone, he has such a sweet soul and such a gentle man! What an amazing person he was!

OH Haylee....what a legacy he left. What an amazing life he had, I agree you could learn endless things from Grandpa Moulton. I feel so blessed to have gotten to meet him and talk with him. I enjoyed reading about the ranch and the cabins in the book I got on that Mother's day weekend I was able to meet Clark Alma Moulton
