Summer fuN!

The boss people (aka my mom and dad) gave us a few days off of work to go have some fun. And fun is what we did.
First we spent a couple of days in another one of my favorite places in the world: my Grandma's cabin in Island Park. We had such a good time with my Grandparents and letting Jackson play and explore all there is to offer at the cabin.
He loved being with Great Ma-Ma and Great Ba-Pa. He would pull them by the hand as he explored. He loved going by the lake and watching the boats as well as throwing rocks in the water. He loves riding the "tractor" this year. He went on a few rides with Great Ba-Pa. And of course his favorite thing was the pool table. He learned a new game with it this year and would have spent hours doing this if we let him...
We not only went to spend time with my grandparents, but we also we able to meet up with two of my best friends from High School. Kim and Anneka were in Island Park for a family reunion (they are cousins).Unfortunately Camille is in DC and we weren't able to have a full reunion without her... maybe someday. Here is a flashback picture of the four best friends. We called ourselves "Hack" (the initials of our first names). We decided one day to dress up like this and go to school... haha we were weird, but so awesome!! :)Anneka and Kim's family were nice enough to let us crash the reunion and join in on some of the activities. The first thing we did was go rafting.Jackson with Anneka's little girl Addy. The three of us on the raft. It ended up being a really long float, but Jackson did good the whole time. He liked to dip his feet in the water when he got hot. Once he got comfortable with Kim, Devin, and Kim's sister Jenn, he started showing off his skills and talked a bunch. After that we went back to where they were staying and rode some horsies. Jackson got right on this pony and was in heaven! He loved it!! His pony's name was Boots and even now he still talks about "boots" the "horsie".Kim's little girl Hallie rode with him for awhile... but she didn't quite love it as much. I love how Jackson is holding onto her though... they really are a cute couple! :)Justin got to go on a trail ride while I stayed back at the cabin and chatted with Ann and Kim.
We are so glad we were able to go.
****************************************************************************************
The next couple of days we got to spend time with Justin's family. His sister Jamie and her husband Nate came to visit us! Jackson loved the attention from Aunt "Me-Me" and Uncle "Meat"
We went to Signal Mountain for dinner, roasted mallows in the fire, canoed and played at the lake, and walked the shops downtown. It was fun to have them come!

I am so glad you posted on our fun event together! I just got home myself. My only regret is that it just wasn't long enough! I hated deviding my time between friends and family. I just don't get to see either very much! When can we do it again??? It was totally just like no time had passed... except we had to be responsible adults/mothers. Next time I am bringing my hubby to babysit so I can get some good "HACK" time in. It just made me miss us so much! I am so glad though that we still have each other after all these years! Who knows... maybe we will come to live in Memphis with you =) Love ya!!

ohhhh just barely got home and saw the post. I can't say enough about how awesome it was to see you! I loved every second. I also LOOOOOOVED Jackson saying "boots!" all the time. I can still hear it and it is so incredibly adorable. I will put pictures up soon too. Love your guts.
