What Jackson did while we were in Mexico:

When we got home we had a surprise note and pictures on our bed from Jackson. (Courtesy of Grandma Johnson who wrote everything down and provided the pictures from the week)

Dear Mom and Dad,
Welcome home! While you were away having lots of fun, I thought you'd like to know what I did while you were gone.

Sunday morning I woke up at 8. Grandma was so happy I slept that late. When Grandma was getting ready for church I got into her make-up. I got it on my hands, my church shirt, and in my mouth. Grandma said "Oh NO!" And I started to cry. I cried for you, Mommy, but Grandma told me you were in Mexico. I wasn't sure if I believed her because I saw your car outside and said, "See." She told me again that you and Daddy were in Mexico and that everything was going to be OK. I was good in church and Porter shared his toys with me and I shared my snacks with him.

Monday we went over to Alise's house. I played on her toys! They have a big wheel, its a girl kind, but I didn't care because it was FUN! They also had a batter operated truck; the battery didn't work so I just coasted down the driveway and Grandma would push me back up. I had to go inside because I was getting hot, but I was NOT HAPPY about that. I got mad and scratched Grandma's face. Grandma said "Ouch!" I felt bad about hurting her, she even put me in time out. I knew I wasn't going to get away with anything while you and Daddy were gone! I told her I was sorry and she forgave me. I knew she did cause she took me to Alpine park. It was so FUN! They have a bumpy slide. I got so excited and squeezed my hands tight and squealed! I went up and down that slide a lot! We ate lunch in the park too. I was too excited to eat though. Don't worry, Grandma kept putting bits of sandwich in my mouth.

Tuesday I got to stay home with Grandpa. Grandma went with Uncle Jeff to an eye dr. appointment. When I woke up from my nap, Grandma took me on a tractor ride. It's really a riding lawn mover, but it's still a tractor to me! I drove it and steered it and everything! We rode on the tractor for a half hour. Grandma would push on the peddle with her foot and it would make the tractor go really fast. I loved driving all over the yard. But, it was a lot of work. I was very serious about the job I was doing. After a half hour the tractor broke... I think Grandma was just getting tired though. After working so hard I had to have a BIG drink!

Wednesday Grandma had a meeting at her work, so I went down for my nap and when I woke up Alise and all her kids were at Grandma's house. I had fun playing with Joslin and being soft with the baby. After Alise left, Aunt Morgan, Sadie, Kate and Brooklyn came. We had so much fun watching movies and playing with toys. Grandma read lots of books to Sadie and me. We all had to share.Thursday it was raining all day. Since Aunt Morgan was there with all the kids Grandma and Grandpa wanted to do something fun with us. We went to the mall and played in the play area. I got bored pretty fast though so Grandpa took me to ride on toys like the airplane and cars. I had fun with Grandpa and Sadie!Friday I had to sit in Grandma's car ALL DAY LONG as we drove back home to Memphis. But Grandma had a nice friend named Cindy who drove down with us. She was fun. She taught me this song: "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands, then feet, then shout hooray!!" I can clap my hands, and put my arm up in the air for hooray, but stomping my feet in the car was sort of hard. We also sang the wheels on the bus go round and round, and the baby on the bus cries, and the mom on the bus says SHHHH. I also looked at books and watched one movie, but then the DVD player stopped working. Oh and Mom and Dad, Grandma also taught me how to get the big semi trucks to honk at me! You put your arm in the air and pull it down. I got 5 trucks to honk back at me. I laughed when that happened. I got pretty bored after awhile and decided to take a nap. Oh and don't tell Grandma I told you, but I was very unhappy about being in the car all day long and the only thing that made me feel better was my blankie and binkie, so she let me have it!

Saturday morning I woke up the earliest I have since you left at 7:00. After Cindy and Grandma got ready we went to Sam's Club. I HAD to have my stroller, but not to be pushed in after sitting all day on Friday. I wanted to walk! So I pushed my stroller around, but it was still like an umbrella. Everyone in Sam's thought I was so cute. But then I wanted to push a shopping cart. And after that I wanted Cindy to push me around on one of those huge carts for big heavy things. AND then I wanted to drive the car, but you know Grandma, she wouldn't let me. After that we went to a World Food Store or something like that because I needed a snack. Grandma found this little shopping cart that was just my size. It was pretty small, but I fit right in it. Grandma sure makes things fun, she was pushing me really fast and going all over the bumps she could find. Then we headed to the airport so Cindy could fly home. After that I was ready for lunch and my nap.

Sunday Grandma got up and fixed me breakfast and we went to church. I kept quite and busy by going through her purse. I would hand her things and say "ma ma's" Man she has a lot of stuff to put on your lips! We left after sacrament meeting; I think I might be wearing Grandma out. After my nap today, Grandma came in and started laughing at my hair! We went on two walks today too. I pushed my toy stroller all over the apartment complex! Once I am outside its so hard to come back in. But Grandma had to get dinner ready. After dinner we built a tall tall tower.

I've missed you and I'm so excited to have you home!

Love,
Jackson
