We packed up our 3 week old baby and toddler and made the 7 hour drive to spend Thanksgiving in Cincinnati. Most of the family was able to get together at Lane and Whit's and we had a really fun time.
The night we got there they took us to Kentucky "down at the Levey" We got to see the beautiful skyline of the city:
They had a really cool light show with Christmas lights linked up to some music and a HUGE Christmas tree. I wish I had a picture of Jackson's face as he watched it... it was like magic in his eyes! He loved it! Here we are in front of the tree:On the way to Kentucky Whitney taught Jackson to say "Kentucky" when we asked where we were going. He would reply with "Tucky!" After walking around for a bit we ate at Graters ice cream. It was delish. Apparently Oprah gets Graters ice cream shipped to her... yeah, its THAT good! Jackson liked sharing everyones and then dubbed Kentucky as "nummy tucky!"The next day was pretty chill getting ready for Thanksgiving day. Yes you see this picture right, it is the BOYS in the KITCHEN helping COOK! What in the world would bring this about you ask?! Well, the girls were spending a couple of hours down in the laundry room scrubbing blankets and clothes. Why were they doing that you ask?! Well Jackson decided to get into my liquid foundation during his nap and making the biggest mess you'd ever imagine. Don't worry we did find a remedy to get it out: Dawn Dish soap (and a lot of hand scrubbing). Thanksgiving morning everyone woke up bright and early to go run/walk the annual Turkey Trot 10K. Justin ran it and the rest walked. Me and my Dad stayed home with the boys. I told Just to get a picture of him there, but he didn't, so here he is with Jackson afterwords. After everyone got home and cleaned up we had our yummy feast! It was fantastic!
Lane got the honors of carving the bird since he was the host. He and Whit have a very cute house and it worked out really well to have everyone there.
Jackson enjoying his feast. He doesn't like Turkey though. He does like sweet potatoes.Jonah enjoying his first Thanksgiving. He is so sweet! The day after the boys went to the UC football game. Even though they froze, they had a good time watching. Cincinnati won which was a plus as well!
