It's true... snow in Memphis! And quite a lot of it lately. Last week we had about 2-3 inches fall overnight, closing down the city and giving Justin a day off. We then had another snowy day 2 days ago. Not as much as the first, and only delaying schools the next day.
First thing in the morning Jackson wanted to go out and play. Now, we don't really have snow clothes so we do our best to improvise. We layer on at least two pairs of pants (and try to find the most waterproof ones as the top layer). Then check out their hands... this was ingenious of me if I do say so myself. They do have knit mittens, but as soon as they put their hands in the snow, it soaks it up, leaving the hands wet and cold. So we took some plastic bags and rubberbanded them onto their hands over the mittens. It worked great, and they didn't have wet hands! :)
Jackson wasn't so sure what to thing about it at first and Justin says we are "ghetto" haha!
Jacksons favorite activity and thing to do in the snow was SNOWBALL fights! What a boy!
I tried building a snowman for the boys, but it wasn't working out too well. The snow was great for snowballs, but it wasn't really sticking great when I tried to roll it into a big ball. I blame it on the fact that we were out so early and it was still too cold.
Yes, thats our snowman... not even taller than Jonah. But don't worry, all Jackson cared about was making sure he could put a carrot on for a nose.
A few hours later, our neighbors across the street showed us up as I looked outside and saw a good 5 foot snowman... yeah yeah yeah!

While I played with the kids, Justin was brooming off the cars... he did leave me a little love note though! :)
We don't get snow often so I was excited about it... but now I'm ready for spring :)

Fun stuff! :) Enjoy the snow for us. It's hard to believe it's snowing somewhere when it's 80 degrees here.
