More fun on the ship... evening Day 4

We got back and as we were getting ready for the evening we discovered the pain of some gnarly sunburns. Justin's back was fried as he forgot to put sunscreen on after taking off his shirt and from snorkeling in the ocean all afternoon with his white back towards the sun most of the time.

Jackson and I put sunscreen on, yet forgot to reapply it as often as we should have.  Jonah wore his swimshirt the whole time and so he didn't get burnt, but we took Jackson's off for a while and his back got pretty bad too.
We knew we were in for a tough night and Justin made the comment, "We are all going to be sick except for  Jonah."... we will get back to that later.

We headed out to the deck to enjoy the sunset again and to see if we could spot any ocean life (no luck).

We did sail past Cancun, and had to get a shot of it out in the distance...

Enjoying a dinner show from our waiters...

Justin's "if you dare" appetizer... yes, those are what they look like.  Frog legs!

Time to pose...

And be goofy...

The ship was so big and pretty.  We enjoyed just walking around and exploring.

We headed back to our cabin fairly early that evening as we were tired from a long day of fun in the sun.
This shows what our sleeping arrangements were like.  Jackson was on one bunk, I was on the other, and Justin and Jonah slept on the king bed.

Our guy that night was made out of one of Daddy's shirts and his swim shorts.  The boys took turns "posing" like him.  :)

As mentioned, that night was rough with the sunburns.  It HURT to lay in bed and Jackson was especially having a hard time with it.  It took him a long time to fall asleep and woke up multiple times crying out because it hurt so badly.  There was also some "sickness" as Justin predicted, however it was... YOU GUESSED IT... Jonah who got sick!  He ended up one, falling off the bed, and two waking up to puke.

Although we of course were having a blast, we were ready for our last day on the ship and about ready to be home!

Snorkeling!!

One thing Justin and I knew we wanted to do was snorkeling.  We had so much fun doing it in Cancun a few years ago that we for sure wanted to do it again.  We rented one set of gear and just took turns going out.  The boys came out for a while, but not long.  Jackson even put his face in the water and looked at the fish a few times.
We had fun with our waterproof video camera.

Day 4 - Cozumel

Our last port was Cozumel, Mexico.  We wanted to spend the day as a family at the beach.  So we read online and found a family friendly place called Chankanaab.  It is actually considered a National Park.  It had a beach, good snorkeling, and dolphin and seal shows.  We thought it would be perfect for the boys.

(unfortunately we had a big blurry fingerprint on our camera lens all day long, so all our pictures have a big blurry spot)

We picked our spot for the afternoon and played in the sand for quite a while.

This area was good for snorkeling, but the only problem was that the beach didn't go straight into the water.  You had to walk down the rocks and then it was pretty deep water.  Here are the boys putting their feet in the Ocean for the first time.  We did go snorkeling, but I will do another post all about that.

We went to the sea lion show that afternoon.  After the show they let the kids come up and get a kiss from the seal.  (Of course they intentionally block your view so you can't get your own picture in order to force you to buy theirs).  I did end up getting a couple of "okay" pictures.

They had one area that was more shallow and led right up to the water for the kids to play in.  We played there for quite awhile with our buckets and shovels and then explored the beach for a while before we had to catch the ship for departure.

On the way back to the ship we stopped at a few shops and the boys picked a couple of maraca's for their souvenirs.

Jonah was so exhausted that he fell asleep in my arms as we were waiting in line to get back onto the ship.  If anyone knows our kids, this NEVER happens unless they truly truly can't take it anymore.

Day 3 - Evening

I'm baaaaack!  haha I thought I would try to get caught up.  Wish me luck.  Here I will attempt to finish up the cruise pictures from May.  I may only get that far, but I at least I am trying.

CHEESE!!!!  Being silly at dinner.

After we had dinner we took the boys to Camp Carnival and enjoyed some evening shows together.

The boys got their face painted when we picked them up

And of course, our third towel friend wishing us a good night.
