Our new abode

We made it to Jackson Hole, WY where we will be living for the next 3 months. Or should I say, we made it to the wintery wonderland of Jackson, WY!
Here is what we got ourselves into:
As you can see there are insane amounts of snow still on the ground out here and we are beginning to wonder how it is all ever going to melt by the time that my parent's have cabin guests arrive in just a couple of weeks. It has actually been beautiful the past few days so lets hope it stays that way.

We are also living in the land of grizzly bears!! A week or so ago my mom got this email with these pictures from our nearest neighbors (about 2 miles away) of a momma grizzly with her three cubs just near our place. It is very rare to see bear nearby and especially grizzly bears!!

Then just a couple of days ago we spotted yet another grizzly near our place. My parents drove around to chase it and snapped a few pictures. He was pretty far away, but you can even tell from these pictures how HUGE he was!! My parents talked to one guy who said that they figure he is a mating bear and that he was following the tracks and the scent of the momma bear who was just there. It makes sense because they figure the mom is going to be weening her babies off of her anytime now.

It was pretty amazing and I guess that we can't complain about the snow when we get opportunities like that and get to see views like this everyday!

oh crazy to move to so much snow when it was just starting to stay off the ground in Rexburg, way to keep a good attitude. As for the bears, I'm not sure to be excited or scared for you. Cool pictures though! Sounds like a great place to hang out for the summer.

Nice! I hope you have fun in Jackson! Sounds like it should be quite the adventure! Too bad for the snow though...of course, now it's 80 degrees here and I'm complaining about the heat! Just can't win...

OH MY! I am glad to be in warm, sunny Georgia. Don't get eaten by the bears, that would be very bad! Say hi to your parents from us.
