SVOSH

Justin and I are involved in an organization on campus called "Student Volunteers for Optometric Services to Humanity" a.k.a. SVOSH. It is going to be an AMAZING opportunity for us and we are so excited!
In May we get to go on a trip to a foreign country (i.e. Mexico, Peru, Jamaica, Columbia, etc.) and give humanitarian service to those who cannot afford or don't have the means to have eye care. Justin will actually be doing eye exams and I will be there to help fit glasses and what not to these people. The club gets glasses donated to them and this is how we are able to provide this service.
However, in order to go on this trip we have to do a number of things. First, we have to put in lots of hours of service and lots of hours of lab work. No problem there... We also have to collect money for the club. Our goal is to earn $1000 for each of us!! Here is where you can help! :)
There is a website to visit explaining more about SVOSH and an opportunity to help us and help out with this humanitarian work. (Justin and I have actually become the webmasters, and most of this website was created by us) Go to http://www.svoshsco.org/ where you will find a link where you can donate online! You can fill out a form and donate as much or as little money as you desire. ****Just make sure you put down either Justin or I as the person you are contributing to.**** We would love your help and we assure you it is a great opportunity to be charitable and give to those in need (especially during this holiday season)!

You can also donate old prescription glasses if you have any as well. Send them to us and we can donate them to the club! (email or leave a comment if you are interested in donating eye glasses)
If you don't want to donate, just go the website and see what it is all about. We are really excited about the opportunity!!!

Wow, so are they telling you that you need to earn that much money, or is that what you want to have? Good luck!

I'm so glad you guys are doing this! Ben and I finally got around to joining this past year and I wish we would have gotten involved sooner; it was a fantastic experience and well worth every lab/service hour. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog too, I am feeling MUCH better!
