Jackson's Special Day

Our little baby turned 2 years old on Sept 7th! I can't believe he's been in our lives for that long... yet at times it seems like it's never been without him. (I'll do a 2 year post later... for now its just the Birthday celebrations)
I wanted to make his day extra special since he is a big boy and because it was on a holiday and Daddy was able to be home! He woke up to balloons, streamers, brightly wrapped presents, and a BIG BOY BED in the living room!He was excited about it all, but mostly about the balloons! In fact when anyone said anything about "Birthday" he would then say "boons!!" He walked around that day saying "Happy Birthday to- DAY!" or "to- ME!" It was so cute! Here he is eating his birthday breakfast "emo" (oatmeal) of course! I asked if he wanted, toast, eggs, pancakes and he said "No. Emo." So although he gets it almost everyday, he got it again on his special day. :)Opening presents and showing off his "miser tato head" from Mommy and Daddy. For lunch we went to McDonald's. This was no ordinary trip to McDonald's though because he got to play on the play land and have a happy meal! He was excited to eat his "meal" and especially loved the carmel dip for the apples. While he was there he got lots of phone calls from family wishing him a Happy Birthday. Does he not look like he is 4 years old in this pic?! :)After lunch he went home and took a nap in his new bed. He calls it his "boy bed" for big boy bed! :) The transition went pretty smooth. He layed in there for a while and then started to pound at the door and cry so Justin went and put him back in bed. He was quite for 15 minutes or so when he started crying at the door again. Justin decided to just let him cry and 15 minutes later he didn't hear anything else. When we went in to wake him up, he was in his bed!

After nap we invited a few friends to have a little birthday party for him. We had it at our friends, The Terry's, house and a few families came. Jackson LOVED running around with his friends and playing with all the toys. We had birthday cupcakes and ice cream. Here he is while we were singing the Happy Birthday song.... he was so cute!Oh and can I just say, he DEVOURED his cupcake. He took bites like an adult and was done with it before any of his friends or any of the adults were done with theirs.... its probably not good that he has that big of a sweet tooth. (Obviously he is his mothers child though).

He had such a good day and that night we put him down in bed and heard not a peep from him. We snuck in the room and snapped this photo. (**Sigh**) our baby is turning into a toddler, and we sure love him to pieces!!!

Well, I hope that the transition continues to go well. It was a few months for Sadie to transition, though she was quite a bit younger than Jackson. I can't believe he is 2, that baby boy!

Oh and that Cancun trip looked like so much fun! It is beautiful, and you had an awesome room with that gorgeous view of the beach. When we went to Florida we had that same set up and we would stay out on our porch watching and listening to the ocean for hours. It is so calming- i love it. and i was big and prego at the time too- but still had fun :)
