Both of our boys have reached new milestones in their lives.
Jonah:
He is finally becoming mobile! This week he started to "scoot" all around. He can hold himself on his hands and knees (if I put him in the position), but is doing the army crawl all over the place. He is getting faster and faster. Jackson isn't going to like a mobile brother as Jonah wants to be where he is and play with his toys. :)
Jackson:
Remember this post?! Well...we took the plunge again this time and it was a success! Jackson has officially been potty trained for 2 1/2 weeks! I would honestly say that it took one day for him to really get it and he has had but a few accidents since. But really, I think he could have done it the first time we tried, but it was me who changed a few things this time. All my changes were little things that made a HUGE difference. For example, instead of saying "Don't pee in your underwear" (I don't know how many times I said that the first time around) but say "Jackson, you are a big boy. I know you can keep your underwear dry" etc. The other difference is that the first 3 days or so I took him to the potty every hour. On the hour I told him it was time to go potty... I didn't leave the decision up to him.
The other thing I did was when he had an accident I put him in the shower for a minute. Then he had to clean up his wet clothes and put on new clothes all by himself. He HATES the shower (it scares him) and so after doing that just a few times he caught on real quick.
Now, we are STILL working on night training... the book I read ("How to Potty Train in 3 Days") is big on NO diapers or pull ups EVEN at night. He has had maybe 4 or 5 nights where he has been dry... the past 3 nights in a row has been good so I'm hoping he is catching onto that too.
Now he tells us every time he has to go... even when we are out and about and in public. We are so proud of him! :)
My favorite quote of the process:
Me: Okay Jacks, lets put your undies back on.
Jackson: UNDIES?!? (said in a disgusted tone) Not undies. Underwear! (he corrects me)
Me: Oh okay. Lets put your underwear back on.
Jackson: Good Job saying that Mommy.
In other news...
We "won" some tickets to see a movie screening of a new movie called "Despicable Me" It officially comes out on July 9th. Its an animated movie with Steve Carell as the main voice. We took Jackson to his first movie and he had a lot of fun. We bought popcorn and soda, so he was in heaven! It was also Justin and I's first 3D movie (awesome!) Anyway, we highly recommend the movie... it was HILARIOUS, and it even made me cry (a happy cry!) Go see it when it comes out.
Oh yeah, and Happy Fathers Day to all you Daddies out there! Justin is a great father and we love him!!

YES!!! Sounds like you guys are doing fabulous and I'm so glad that you're blogging more often!
i did the shower thing too. that worked well. I honestly think our biggest mistake was doing pullups at night. Ana still (at almost 4) wets the bed at least once a week and I think its partly because we did pullups at first. Of course, its pretty normal for some kids to wet the bed even up to 7 or 8 years old. So I wouldn't stress about it too much.
Sounds like there has been some great progress made in your household! new car, free movie and Jacks dry bottom? BUT a WET camera ... what's with that?? I'm getting anxious to see the four of you ... WHEN???? much love, GRAMS
Congrats! I can see you have been busy! we have been off and on with Hy letting him do it on his own b/c he is so young. Yeah, he totally pooped on my rug yesterday. Next month I am pullin out the underwear though!! Wish me luck! It's exciting to see your boys growing so fast. You need to call me sometime. It has been awhile!
Fun stuff!! I can't believe Jonah is finally big enough to scoot! I think we need to tell him no more growing until his Aunt Amy gets to see him again! And GO Jackson!!! That's awesome - especially if he's night training all ready. We're still letting Easton do diapers at bedtime, which is probably a mistake, but I just don't want to deal with changing the sheets on his queen bed that often! Hilarious about him telling you to call them "Underwear"!!
I'm happy to hear that potty training went well! I put Kate in diapers at night until I ran out and then used pull-ups. When she woke up dry for like a week I told her that she was ready for underwear at night. She does great now!
I love the quote! He is so cute!
Thanks for the stuff! I have been waiting to get more news about your family. Love the cute pictures at the pool and I can't wait to see them. Tell Justin Happy Father's Day. He is a good daddy.
