SMILE!!!

I learned a new trick on how to get Jackson to smile for the camera... because he is OBSESSED with pictures and wants to just hold the camera so he can go through it and look at all the pictures, I now say "You have to take a picture first, and then you can see it." So these smiles are purely bribery! :)

Some more Jackson Funnies: (it is so fun that he is starting to communicate directly and show even more personality)

Jackson is beginning to "say the prayer" by repeating what we say. One rainy day Justin was helping him pray
Justin: We are grateful for the rain
Jackson: (repeating back)... rain... and BRELLAS! BRELLAS! BRELLAS! (all the while pointing at Justin to say it!)
Justin: And we are grateful for umbrellas.
**Now EVERY TIME he says a prayer he has to make sure I say we are grateful for umbrellas and the rain!**

Me: Jackson, what do you want for breakfast? Emo??? (oatmeal)
Jackson: No
Me: cereal?
Jackson: No
Me: eggs?
Jackson: No
(this is our usual conversation in the morning, until finally he says "emo")
Me: Well then what do you want?
Jackson: Dip it! (this is what he calls ranch or ketchup)
Me: You can't have dip it for breakfast! What are you going to dip it?
Jackson:Fries!

We were at a friends birthday party (a week ago) and he was being a bit of a bully to his friend Luke. He ended up stealing his toy and got mad at the poor boy and hit him and pulled his hair. So he got put in the corner and talked to by his mommy. He went out and said, "Sorry Luke." Today I had to go visiting teaching and Luke's mom is my companion.
Me: Jackson, you get to play with Luke this morning!
Jackson: Yah! Luke.... Sorry Luke.
Me: Yeah, did you have to tell Luke you were sorry last time you played with him?
Jackson: Yeah. Sorry Luke. Hitting.
Me: Yeah, you had to say sorry for hitting huh?!
** Then we got in the car with Luke (she drove) and Jackson had his favorite "Cars" book. The next thing we know he says, "Here Luke" and he is giving Luke his Cars book. It was like his way of making up for when he was mean to him!**

Those are hilarious! I am so glad you are writing them down. When Halie starts talking more, I will for sure have to keep a record. Such a good idea. I am sure glad he is grateful for umbrellas. Aren't we all!?!

that is so funny about luke. it totally worked out to luke's benefit that he remembered because luke loved the cars book he so sweetly shared with him!! :-) yeah, i would say i'm more thankful for umbrellas right now than rain. today it's finally nice and NO RAIN. i think i'm pretty rained out. oh and CUTE COSTUME!! i've been looking too and agree - there isn't anything creative and fun. i've got to think of something like that. oh, maybe you could be the cookie monster!
